2024 BMW Championship Recap: Bradley Triumphs as Tour Championship Field Set

The 2024 BMW Championship at Castle Pines delivered an exciting conclusion to the penultimate event of the FedEx Cup Playoffs, with Keegan Bradley coming out on top and securing his seventh PGA Tour title.

Bradley's Brilliant Performance

Keegan Bradley, the last man in the field, was showing why he was there throughout the tournament. He narrowly won the title by 1 shot beating out Aberg, Burns, and Scott (all T-2). His stellar performance not only earned him the BMW Championship trophy but also catapulted him from 50th to 4th place in the FedEx Cup standings. Putting him in prime position for the Tour Championship at East Lake this week.

Young Talent Shines

The tournament also highlighted the rising stars of golf, with Ludvig Åberg making a significant impact. The 23-year-old Swede finished tied for 2nd, an impressive result that moved him up to 5th place in the FedEx Cup standings. This strong showing not only secured Åberg's place in the Tour Championship but also strengthened his case for a potential Ryder Cup selection.

Veterans Make Their Mark

While the young guns impressed, seasoned players like Adam Scott proved they still have plenty left in the tank. Scott's solid performance throughout the week also earned him a tie for 2nd place, moving him up from 41st to 14th in the standings and securing his spot at East Lake.

Tour Championship Field Set

The drama of who would make the top 30 and advance to the Tour Championship reached its peak on Sunday. Here are some of the notable outcomes:

  • Just Missed: Brian Harman (31st), Si Woo Kin (32nd), Jason Day (33rd)

Looking Ahead to East Lake

As attention shifts to the Tour Championship at East Lake Golf Club, the unique staggered start format adds an extra layer of intrigue. FedEx Cup leader Scottie Scheffler will begin the tournament at 10-under par, with the rest of the field positioned behind him based on their standings.

With $18 million and a five-year PGA Tour exemption at stake for the winner, the stage is set for a thrilling conclusion to the 2024 PGA Tour season. Will Scheffler maintain his lead, or can Bradley capitalize on his momentum from the BMW Championship to make a run at the title?

The 2024 Tour Championship promises to be an exciting finale to what has been an unforgettable season of golf, with golf's biggest stars gunning for the coveted FedEx Cup.
