2024 Open Championship Recap

The 2024 Open Championship at Royal Troon Golf Club concluded with a thrilling final round, showcasing the resilience and skill of the world's top golfers. Xander Schauffele came out on top, capturing his second major title of the year and his career.

Final Round Drama: Entering the final round, Billy Horschel led the field at -4, with six players, including Schauffele, tied at -3. The leaderboard was tightly packed, promising a great finish.

Weather Challenges: The tournament was marred by difficult weather conditions, particularly on Saturday, where wind and rain played a big role. The weather improved slightly on Sunday, allowing for some better scores.

Schauffele's Mastery: Schauffele delivered a bogey-free final round of 65, the lowest of the day, to secure the Claret Jug. His performance included six birdies, with a particularly strong back nine where he carded a 31.

Rose and Horschel's Efforts: Justin Rose and Billy Horschel both finished tied for second at -7. Rose briefly held the lead after a birdie on the par-5 fourth hole, but Schauffele's consistent play proved too strong. Horschel, despite starting the day in the lead, couldn't maintain his advantage.

Thriston Lawrence: Lawrence's fourth-place finish at -6 earned him a spot in the 2025 Masters.

Matthew Jordan: Finishing exactly 10th, Jordan secured his place in the next Open Championship.

Scrambling Leader: Schauffele's scrambling ability was on full display, leading the field with a 70.35% success rate.
