PLUS: It's RSM week, top 100 golf courses in 2024, and more
Good morning. This is your Happy Valley Golf Team Wednesday newsletter. Let’s get it!
Why we’re fall-ing in love with Wayfair
It's no secret that Wayfair is a fun place to shop, but in a world where every penny counts, we're not just looking to have fun. Our goal is to save big on quality home goods as we gear up for the holidays. In case you're wondering, "Is Wayfair legit?" or "Is Wayfair furniture good quality?", we can confidently answer yes to those questions, and if you read Wayfair reviews, you’ll find that thousands of customers agree with us.
But there are even more reasons to love Wayfair, and Brad's Deals rounded up their top reasons. Brad (yes, it's a real guy) was a broke college student who found cheaper ways to shop and shared them with his friends in the early 2000’s. Now their experts search the web to find the best deals, and share them with users. To join the club, all you need is an email address.
Unsolicited Golf Tips
Sea Island Showdown: Last Call for PGA Tour Glory as Åberg Returns for RSM Classic Defense
It's time for the PGA Tour's version of a season finale at the 2024 RSM Classic, where accountants and golfers unite for one last dance of the year.
Tournament Details
Where: Sea Island Golf Club, St. Simons Island, Georgia
Purse: $7.6 million (tax season came early)
The Story So Far
Our defending champion Ludvig Åberg is back after taking a knee (literally) for a few months following surgery. Last year, he casually dropped a casual 29-under 253, tying the PGA Tour scoring record and making the rest of the field look like weekend hackers with consecutive 61s to close. Now he's back with a new knee and presumably the same swagger.
Drama in Georgia
This isn't just another golf tournament - it's career judgment day for many players. Think of it as golf's version of a season finale cliffhanger. Wesley Bryan is sitting at No. 125 in the FedExCup standings, probably biting his nails down to the quick. Meanwhile, Daniel Berger and Gary Woodland are among those trying to avoid having to update their LinkedIn profiles with "seeking new opportunities."
The Contenders
Ludvig Åberg: Leading the odds at +800 (new knee, who dis?)
Davis Thompson: Local hero at +2200 (knows where all the good restaurants are)
Brian Harman: Georgia's own (probably has "Georgia On My Mind" as his ringtone)
Mackenzie Hughes: Former champ who knows his way around both courses blindfolded
Players will split time between the Seaside and Plantation courses for the first two rounds before everyone congregates at Seaside for the weekend - assuming they make the cut, of course. May the odds be ever in their favour.
