2024 Presidents Cup: Americans Extend Their Reign

Hold onto your golf visors! The 2024 Presidents Cup has come and gone faster than a Tiger Woods comeback, and boy, was it a doozy. Pour yourself a Arnold Palmer, kick off those spiked shoes, and let's dive into the action that unfolded at Royal Montreal Golf Club.

Stars, Stripes, and Birdies: Team USA's Dominance Continues

In a shocking turn of events that didn’t really surprise anyone, the United States secured their 10th consecutive victory in the Presidents Cup. It's getting so predictable that we're starting to wonder if the trophy has a permanent "Property of Team USA" sticker on it.

The American Team swept the Internationals on day 1. But the International stormed back with a sweep of day 2 to enter the weekend tied 5-5. Unfortunately it was all down hill for the International Team after that.

The final score? 18.5 to 11.5 in favour of the red, white, and blue. Proving that the American team is more consistent than your grandpa's 7 AM tee time.

O Canada? More Like "Oh, Canada..."

The Canadian contingent of Corey Conners, Taylor Pendrith, and Mackenzie Hughes faced an uphill battle steeper than a par 3 on the side of a mountain. Despite having home-turf advantage and enough local support to fill a Tim Hortons a hundred times over, the trio found themselves in more tricky spots than a golf ball in a GM-engineered cup holder. But hey, if golf were easy, we'd all be on the PGA Tour, right? The Canucks showed true northern grit, reminding us that in golf, as in life, it's not about how many times you end up in the rough, but how creatively you play your way out of it.

The Bradley Bunch

In a twist worthy of a golf movie script, Keegan Bradley - the 2025 U.S. Ryder Cup captain - clinched the winning point for Team USA. It's as if he looked at his future self and said, "Hold my beer." Bradley's clutch performance against Si Woo Kim was so impressive, it almost made us forget about his, shall we say, "unique" pre-shot routine. Which takes longer than waiting for a slow foursome on a busy Saturday morning.

Matsuyama: The Back-Pain Bandit

Hideki Matsuyama, dealing with back issues all week, managed to take down world #1 Scottie Scheffler in Sunday singles. We're not saying Hideki's chiropractor deserves a share of the purse, but... actually, yeah, that's exactly what we're saying.

Looking Ahead: Can Anyone Stop This Red, White, and Blue Machine?

As we look to future Presidents Cups, one has to wonder: Will the International team ever break this American stranglehold? Or will we be writing the same newsletter in 2026, just with different names and a new set of dad jokes?

Only time will tell, but one thing's for sure - golf fans around the world will be eagerly awaiting the next chapter in this lopsided yet oddly compelling rivalry.
