Golf Trip

This week we are golfing in Gulf Shores, Alabama. We have 3 courses that you aren’t going to want to miss.

Day 1 - Kiva Dunes Golf Course

Reputation and Design: Kiva Dunes is widely recognized as one of the best golf courses in Alabama. The course, designed by Jim Edgemon and former U.S. Open Champion Jerry Pate, offers an exceptional links-style golfing experience.

Course Layout and Playability: The course stretches over 7,100 yards and is known for its natural layout, featuring exposed sand and gnarly scrub oak. The design includes a blend of signature par 3s, challenging par 4s, and risk/reward par 5s. Notably, the Par 4, 9th hole, is a highlight, requiring strategic play over water.

Day 3 - Cotton Creek at Craft Farms

The course provides a playable experience from the forward tees while offering a true championship challenge of over 7,000 yards from the tips. The design follows Palmer's philosophy of challenging yet not intimidating, with numerous risk/reward opportunities.

Signature Challenges: The course features particularly notable challenges, such as the 6th Hole, which is the most challenging on Cotton Creek. It requires a well-placed tee shot over water to the fairway, followed by a second shot over more water to the green.

PGA News

We had no tournament last weekend to recap. This week we have the Hero World Challenge. And yes, Tiger is in the field! He tees off with Justin Thomas at 11:52 Thursday morning.

Tiger is the host of the exclusive invite only tournament. The field and prize pool is small, but we get a lot of the top golfers in the world.
