Golf Trip

This week we are heading down to Frisco, Texas to play some golf. We have 3 stunning courses that you’re going to want to see!

Day 1 - East Course at Fields Ranch

  • The East Course is a par 72 playing 7,863 yards from the tips.

  • It’s a challenging layout, but there is 2 get-able par 4s to help the scores.

  • There is a mix of large and small greens here. With slopes and false fronts. Accuracy on your approach shots is important.

  • Panther creek comes into play on several holes, you need to plan your shots accordingly.

  • They use a ribbon tee system system. This ensures there is a tee block for every level of golfer.

Day 2 - Frisco Lakes Golf Club

  • Par 72 playing 7,129 yards from the tips.

  • Frisco Lakes offers generous tree-lined fairways, challenging greens, and striking views.

  • They have 5 sets of tees to accommodate most skill levels.

  • Lets talk signature holes. The have 2 back-to-back holes that are pretty interesting. You get through these hols without getting wet and you’re in good shape.  :

    • 7th Hole: A 341-yard Par 4, requiring a tee shot across water to a peninsula-style green.

    • 8th Hole: A 135-yard Par 3, the shortest on the course with a small island green.

  • Rated as one of the top luxury public golf clubs in the DFW area by Avid Golfer for three consecutive years.

Day 3 - Pecan Hollow Golf Course

  • Par 71 playing 7,026 yards from the tips.

  • Pecan Hollow has all the practice facilities you will ever need. A 5 hole pitch and putt course to sharpen your short game, driving range that is lighted at night, and a massive putting green to dial in that flat stick.

  • The also offer 5 sets of tees to cater to any level of golfer.

  • As far as holes go, #6 is the toughest on the course. Measuring almost 500 yards from the tips this par 4 is going to require some muscle to get it up there. Get out of here with a par and the rest of the course is fairly straightforward.

PGA News

The 2023 RSM Classic, held at Sea Island Seaside Course, witnessed a remarkable performance from Ludvig Åberg. Who clinched his first PGA Tour win with a striking 29-under par.

This victory not only earned Åberg over $1.5 million in prize money. But also made him the 11th Swedish-born winner on the tour. Despite turning professional only in June 2023, Åberg has already assembled an impressive resume. Including being part of the winning European Ryder Cup team and securing a DP World Tour title at the Omega European Masters.

A significant factor in Åberg's success at the RSM Classic was his exceptional driving skills. Recognized as some of the longest and most accurate in the sport. His prowess enabled him to comfortably drive the green on a 400-yard par 4 TWICE during the tournament 🤯.

Åberg's dominance was particularly evident over the weekend. Where he shot two separate 61s on Saturday and Sunday, effectively securing his lead over the field.

Mackenzie Hughes, a Canadian golfer, emerged as Åberg's closest competitor, finishing solo second with a score of 25-under par. Hughes nearly achieved a 59 on Saturday and maintained strong performance with a 63 on Sunday.
