Erik van Rooyen won the 2023 World Wide Technology Championship in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico last weekend. This was his second PGA Tour win, and his first since 2021. He earned $1.475 million.
Van Rooyen played the final nine holes at 8-under par, including an eagle on No. 18, to win the tournament by two strokes over Camilo Villegas and Matt Kuchar.
Kuchar had a rough ending to his third round on Saturday. He made a quadruple-bogey 8 after snap-hooking his tee shot into the jungle on hole 15. He followed it up with a bogey on 16 to leave the door was wide open for Villegas and van Rooyen on Sunday. Kucher ended up blowing a 6 stroke lead he had late on Saturday.
Big moves for Kuch 📈
With a T2 in Mexico, Matt Kuchar has solidified his position in The Next 10.
Those 10 players will qualify for Signature Events @attproam and @thegenesisinv.
